5speedz34
I want to see pics. EDIT- just took part of the URL on the link out
Vegeta
Yeah right. 8000 RPM, i don't know if I believe that or not. Superchips would have to rewrite the executable portion of the code....not sure I believe they can or did do this. 19# injectors...and has 24#...wow dude, that doesn't support those number and 19# is less than stock injectors flow. No headers? "The Fastchip did gain .5HP and .6 torque. And probably decrease's quarter mile time by .2 of a second" ROFL! yeah fucking right. so 1 hp would do what, 4 tenths of a second. wow, ricer math to the extreme, like vanilla ice its pretty sad. "http://www.techvelocity.com/gtp/manifolds.htm" Read that...seriously..who came up with that shit? I have ceramic coated exhaust manifolds...its not that amazing. 5-8 hp, i think not. Im not reading any more shit from that site. I remember reading it back in 98...and it was pretty cool back then. Sadly, it seems that everyone's idea of factual DOHC performance content involved being a retard and buying into bullshit. Very sad.
Aaron
WHy the hell are we interested in cams for our cars? This guy clearly states "Camshafts will remain stock--to exspensive to custom grind and won't really give any gains due to still using a computer." See we are all wrong, and as the small blcok chevy has proven to us, cam upgrades do nothing to cars.
Robby1870
I love his rationale for 10.25 CR being okay. "The northstart V8 has 10.25, so its safe on the LQ1" LOL. Did you guys read the tornado intake thing? 10 wheel HP?!?!?
Aaron
10.25 isn't that much at all, I hope to be running 11-11.5 on my Fiero motor, but that will also be with an MSD ignition and all forged internals.
Vegeta
Yeah, and check the plug wires...4 hp. Spark plugs, 2-3. Its just dumb, plain out fucking ignorant bullshit. Sadly I remember when we all bought into it....if you were there.
Aaron
Sweet so I can add like 8hp to my motor becuz of my wires and plugs(both of which did nothing...) Yah I remember when we also believed everything that the guy on the 3.4L DOHC said...But it is good that we no longer do, it puts us on a better road to more power from the motor. Vegeta
I didnt even care about the DOHC back then...I was all about making power with the 3.1. I was reading the w-body message board in computer programming class in college and saw nico posting about the DOHC. That was all I knew about the motor. Funny how things change. GutlessSupreme
If used as Ram-Air you should get 4-5 HP increase when going above 70MPH. If used as cold air intake you should get 2-3HP when going above 25MPH. Why did I choose cold air intake instead of ram-air? ahaha.. I love it.. there's no such thing as ram-air... dumbshit ram-air IS a CIA (without restrictions). There is no actual "ram" effect. Having "ram-air" isn't going to "ram" anymore air into the intake at 90mph than at 10 mph. For it to have an actual effect you'd have to be traveling at airplane speeds. Seriously.. the way he thinks about he's acting like he's boosted.
Aaron
But with his 10.25 skyhigh compression and stock cast iron manifolds, he can travel at airplane speeds!!! And there is no top speed, it goes faster and faster, becuz as the MPH climbs, more air is rammed in and it makes more horsepower!!!
Canada
Hey.....its Aaron Lephart's page.......he owns a supercharged C5 now. Yep.....that dyno did show a 10 hp gain..............but it wasn't on a DynoJet....it was on one of those old ass Clayton water-brake piles....in other words, the butt dyno was more accurate. Yeah, a lot of the stuff he wrote on that site is pretty inaccurate...........but for the time (most of that stuff is 5+ years old....I didn't even have my license then).........that was about all there was.........other than Twin Dual Cam....and they closed up shop. Canada
BTW........I should point out that the first page linked was NOT Aaron Lephart writing.........it was some letter or email he got from a guy. Which is BS BTW....... Just do the math: "Engine is producing currently 297 hp at 5600 and 305 hp at 7000, torque is 291 at 5500 and 280 at 7000." Hmmm...........280lb/ft at 7K is 373hp............damn I hate people that can't even BS well. BTW.......my roomate had MET Aaron Lephart at about that time (he was stationed in California when he was in the Marines and ran into him at the dragtrip in Carlsbad Cali.)............he said the guy ran an amazing 15.9XX with his 95 GTP (prior to it getting the 3800 SC), and sounded like a bit of a douchebag (apparently Lephart claimed he hit 150mph or somesuch after the Fastchip removed the governor). He actually didn't hit 150 until he had the engine swap and a bunch of mods done............... Before anybody raises any eyebrows at this, he said the HUD read 151mph, and with the 4T65'E's 2.93 axle ratio, the rpm works out correctly.......... Anyway..........just remember that half that site is BS...........but there IS someinteresting info on there if you look hard enough. Aaron
Let's face it, he was too stupid to really be able to make a 3.4L TDC go fast, so he did a L67 swap. Good, we need less LQ1 owner's like him.
