WhiteMonteZZZ
I read some old posts on the GPs having 2nd gear start, and the sucker i am for switches, i wanna add this if possible. I read that you ground pin D6 or something on the computer. Is there somewhere in the car I can wire this up, w/o running a wire from the computer thru the firewall to the dash? WMZZZ EDIT: I know it's possible cuz I have the 4t60-e and DOHC, and thats what a friend of a friend's gp had when he had the switch on his car. THe_DeTAiL3R
2nd gear start if for people that suck at driving in snow. Actually i've never used mine yet, maybe try it tomorrow if there is some snow or ice.
supreme_style21
Its all a matter of grounding that one pin, but if you ask me, its not worth it. Its semi-decent on glare ice, but like they said, if you know how to drive, you don't need it. I'll flip it on once in a while just for the hell of it, but I end up getting mad at it and turning it off.
Vegeta
I would love to get my hands on a car with this option. I can change the shift points for that switch to be a performance shift...not a snow shift:) I havent messed with it cause everyone around here has a 5 speed DOHC...makes that switch pointless. Anyway, it could happen and im sure a few people would be interested in it. Besides, if you already have my chip, it would be a free update if I do get those shift points figured out and worthwhile. Could also make it a valet type switch if you hid it. Not a rev limiter but shift so lame no one would care to race with your car if you didnt want them to. My new Grand Prix has that switch. I'd use it just for kicks like every once in a long while, but I can't see needing it unless snow was gathered on the ground. I don't know exactly how you do what you do with the shift points, is it software with a link cable? Or do you have to have the MEMCAL? Vegeta
94-95 DOHC are still memcal, so its still possible for you. I dunno what all is mapped out for them in the code though.
