EricBigNally
I know that if the car is cold it won't shift as soon as it should until it warms up, but I was driving for about an hour and a half and the damn thing would not shift into overdrive regardless of what I was doing. I was going about 60mph all the way and it would just stay in third. What is wrong with? Has anyone had this happen to them before and about how much is it gonna cost to fix if its something I can't do myself (like rebuild the tranny). THe_DeTAiL3R
Is you engine running at proper temperature? Some guy once told me that if the t-stat isn't right and the engine runs too cold it can cause problems. I don't know if it's true or not just an idea. EricBigNally
I'm running stock thermostat right now and the temp gauge is where it always is. Heats up as it always has and stays constant. I'm hoping its nothings serious, I really don't want to have to shell out big bucks to fix this damn thing. 1990lumina
My Lumina was doing that when it would "sort of" shift into overdrive but it was running higher rpms then usual. So now I accelrate in Drive and pop it into overdrive when I'm up to speed and it seems to work better. Or sometimes I can get it into overdrive by taking my foot off the gas, it will drop in, then apply the gas again. I'm not sure what my problem is, but that is how I get it togo so far! - Jeff L.
