SloMo94
It doesn’t matter whether it’s hot or cold I have a hesitation kind of a sputter or bucking. This happens at takeoffs every now and then or between 1200-3000 revolutions in the city, I also notice under load or any time I give gas on the highway this will occur. Even if I mash the throttle it will kick down the take off while every 2-3 seconds it sputters. There aren’t any changes on my tach. There was a tune up on this 12,000 miles ago which replace the plugs, wires, coils, and a complete fuel injection cleaning, the valvolen kind you hook up to the vacuum lines or some thing. I was thinking of replacing the injectors, fuel-filter and any thing else recommended. I went and picked up some sea-foam to try first though! Looks like I need to take the intake off, I was thinking replacing with 3400 top end. How much does this cost? Does any one have any ideas or opinions on the above said? The factory AC Delco plugs are the best ones to use.

Intlcutlass
What kinda car? he has a Cutlass what kinda stuff did they replace when they did the tune-up? What year? That can be important. Quick story... The wifes 95 Cutlass (3100) at one point on the freeway kept kickin in and outa overdrive... why? Needed a tune up. Something with at a certain speep and the computer controlling the Tranny , and it wasn't getting the proper voltage someplace... Some sensor I don't know where... But I changes the plugs , cleaned the coil pack terminals , and it never did it again. I would have never had that issue with my 89 because that was a vacume controlled transmission.... Year is important.
SloMo94
It's a 94 3100. No I haven’t checked for codes. As for what types of parts are in the car I don’t know. This was my mother’s car since new. Once she got a transfer across town to a new job with better pay she wanted a new car with a warranty. I took this opportunity to let her have the Sunfire as a trade in, I got the Cutlass. All that was done when she owned it, so I'm aware of what was done to it. Just not what parts, she only put 1200 miles on it a year for the last 3. This was all done a while ago.
gpse_97
my 92 Grand Prix with 3.4 DOHC has the EXACT same issue. Do a compression test, I changed almost everything in the motor and still have this issue. Also it isn't the tranny, it is something in the engine. I changed: -Plugs -Wires -Profesional Injector Cleaning -02 Sensor -Both Intake Gaskets -Fuel Filter -PCV I had new coils and ICM but I never installed them as I didn't have the time. However the coils on the car looked good, no rust or corrosion, and I wasn't getting misfires all the time, only when the TCC locked up at highway speeds and the car was under heavey load I would get misfires. Also I get them at low RPM around 1800-2100RPM it would misfire.
SloMo94
New thoughts! My fuel injectors are fine, when in neutral it revs to my rev limiter with no hesitations. Merging from 60-80mph it acts confused, torque converter isn’t unlocking-locking. I was told it needs to be serviced. Does any one what’s going to be done besides fluid and filter change! Also I might have a small slip I noticed it when I accelerate hard from any speed under hard acceleration during city driving. This happens every 2-3 seconds. SleeperRed90TGp
Read this thread. If nothing else you have to eliminate any possible ignition problem before you can go on. http://www.w-body.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=24229 Jud
