Ok time to be serious. I will let you in on my back ground and the 3.4 DOHC. Some of you may remember my car. It was a different forum that closed and somebody was going to take it over if i remember right. It was about 2 years ago.

The 93 GTP and it had a lot of work done and it had cost a lot to do. To start it had a true cold air intake, (Battery relocated to trunk) Extrude honed heads, upper and lowers intake were extrude honed. The intakes were ground and matched. Throttle body was enlarged. Custom Chip installed (Can’t remember who I got it from) custom under drive pulleys, custom knowledgy plug wires, MSD ignition system including the dis-4 and MSD coil packs. SLP cat back, (no longer made that I am aware of) Reactive free flowing catalectic converter. Stillen cross drilled and slotted rotors with EBC brake pads and a Zex Kit. High flow Injectors, and a high volume fuel pump.

The car was mean and was a complete sleeper. It was powerful! I was very happy and it never let me down once. Won a lot of races. Until my ex girlfriend totaled the car. Well I went to the guy’s house I sold the GTP to (not knowing he kept it for parts) I shit myself and it was still there sitting in the yard. He allowed me to take most of my old parts. He gave me everything!!! For a price of course!

Well I have now taken my 94 GTP to the next level. I have started putting all my same parts from my old GTP on to the new one. It’s been a big job. So far I have gotten the C.A.I. on, SLP cat back on. Extrude Honed Upper and lower intakes are now on. Still haven’t done the heads because it’s too cold out. I will be going into the garage soon then I will do the heads and MSD again. I have a buddy who works for GM coming over to do the timing. He did the last GTP. I want to get this 3.4 back to where the old one left off. I am getting there slowly but by spring it will be done again. Now that my step father works at the G.E. turbo division (jet engines mostly) I can have access to extrude honing and a machine shop again. For Free…

Yep I looked in my old pc and it was EFI street. God how time flys... There is some poor information here that I want to correct. Like some people here saying the 4T60E is a weak and poor tranny. HA! Weak and poor huh....People say that when there trannys breaks and have nothing to blame. We had a turbo charged fiero gt running a 3.4 DOHC it was pushing around 275 horse with a ZEX 50hp shot.. The tranny held up fine. My tranny also help up fine with around 245-250 hp. Never a problem. If you buy a used car and have a used transmission well then you get what you pay for. Ours were rebuilt or remans. Never had a failed tranny. Never. I am looking for my old pictures to post. When I get back from Chicago on monday I will post them.

I went thru 6, count them 6 4T60-E's in my 91 Z-34, how can you explain going thru 6 transmissions in one car, in less then 30k miles (one trans was used ONLY by my mother, and an other ONLY by my father) so we eliminated driver abuse.

the 4T60 is a SHIT transmission, and I will argue that till my grave. They made SO many mistakes - from the case casting, to using the smaller weaker bearings in the final drive assembly, to the crappy stove-pipe design. It's a junk transmission, prone to all sorts of problems.

Other then that, congratz on gettin' your car back together, well, your old parts on your new car anyhow.

Well on my old 97 Grand Prix GT the 4T60-E was abused big time by me and it lasted 7 years untill I did a stupid one wheel burn-out and grenaded the Diff. I think the 4T60-E is a great tranny, My 97 GT wasn't stock at all and abused the crap outta that tranny but she took the power and abuse. Also I like the 4T60-E better than the 4T65E-HD in my GTP.
