JMo60 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 does anyone know about this Cry02 system that is new on the import market. It utilizes a frozen bulb in the intake, and flows C02 through it to cool the intake air. people have said on other forums that it is good for around 10-20 horse, but i dont listen to the riceburners. It makes sense, and should work to some extent, but i dont know how much it will work. Quote

He said he was going to rig a c02 bottle into his intake and somehow pressing a button, releasing the air into the engine. Quote
mihela816 Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 blowing co2 into the intake is a bad idea. But that should be obvious. Quote
Psych0matt Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 blowing co2 into the intake is a bad idea. But that should be obvious. that's what I was thinking, mostly because oxygen burns and carbon dioxide doesnt... Quote
WhiteOut Posted December 6, 2004 Report Posted December 6, 2004 CO2 doesn't burn at all, its already fully oxidized. CO2 would however do a great job making the engine misfire or stall if fed into the cyliners!!! Quote
gp90se Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 because im a lazy fuck im not clicking any of the links, but usually the CO2 setup is used to just cool the intake manifold, not actually go into the motor. colder intake = colder air = more power. run nauz and fogettaboutit Quote

This idea sounds stupid, lol. On a W-body, pretty funny that people are looking for 'power'. Quote
JMo60 Posted December 7, 2004 Author Report Posted December 7, 2004 the co2 does not enter the combustion chamber in any way. it only cools the imcoming air with a frozen bulb Quote
GPdriver1986 Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Go buy a used deep freezer take it apart and modify it so somehow fits into the intake. Or you can take the evaporator in the car and move it over to the engine. 8) Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 Use CO2 to run a Cryocharger! Quote
GrandPrix34 Posted December 7, 2004 Report Posted December 7, 2004 A: Yes it will, but we are not injecting the CO2 into the air stream. We are harnessing the cryogenic nature of the CO2 to charge various heat sinks to cool the air and fuel charge. This does bring up an excellent point…when venting the system you need to make certain the air intake is not picking up the venting CO2. The same is true if you’re using the Intercooler Sprayer, make certain the air intake is away from the intercooler or it will stall the motor. Both the Air Intake Segments and the Fuel Bars come with connection/venting hose. This hose either connects to the next component or enables you to decide where you want the CO2 to exit. And YES it does look like a nitrous purge when it is venting…very cool. Quote
