4T60e or 4T65e?

Just a general question. I know GM introduced the 4T65e for the 96' model year, but did any first gen W-Bodies (or the Monte Z34) get this transmission? Or, did all of us get shafted with the 4T60 straight through 97'?

Are you sure, becuase the L67 came out in 97', and the 3800 Series II debuted in 96'. I know for sure my Dad's 97' Bonneville SSE had the 4T65e since he had to have it rebuilt, so it must have been out in 97' at the very least.

Since the 95-01 Luminas are considered 1st Generation (1.5 actually but they have more in common with Gen 1 than Gen 2) check this out:

It looks like the 97 LQ1's and the 98-up L36's got the 4T65-E in the Luminas. Also the 2000 and 2001 3100's got them as well.

Here's their main page in case you wish to look up the rest of the W lineup:

the 4T65-E Was offered for the first time in 97 on all L67 (3800 II Supercharged). the 97 L36 (3800 II N\A) got the 4T60-E.

I'm pretty sure the only cars that got the L67 was 97+ L67 and 98+ Everything got it.
