bbqen2
I've got a 93 lumina (bought used). I've read enough posts to know the "pump to set" is correct, but some of you guys have an e brake lite. My car never has. Is it suppose too? Regal_GS_1989
All W's have an E-brake light. Maybe yours is just burnt out, or the switch to activate is is shot.
bbqen2
Thanks. I thought it was a pretty shitty design, not to have one. I just got ahold of the local GM dealer and had them order me a service manual.
Robby1870
I bet the bulb is burned out. Just take the cluster out and replace it
bbqen2
We bought the car with 19,000 miles on it and it didn't have a E brake light then. Might sound stupid but I didn't think GM put one in.
Justin
I'd bet the switch was bad, keeping the light on. More than likely they just unplugged the switch, like I did. Look down there for a single wire switch on the e-brake mechanism and see if it's hooked up.
Jcrow
my switch is corroded and the light dosen't work

Might sound stupid but I didn't think GM put one in. test the switch and bulb, one thing i learned is that older gm cars don't mind eating lightbulbs at all EDIT: just went out and looked at my car if it has the gauges with the Tach, when you turn the car on the light that says "BRAKE" right under the 10mph on the speedo should light for a split second then go out, if it never flashes then the bulbs bad, if it does flash the switch is the culpret
bbqen2
it is the switch that was bad. It wasn't making contact when the e brake was applied. Thanks for your help
