cryptnix
i don't know if this is serious but now sense its getting pretty cold out whenever i start my car in the morning it revs up to 1500 rpm ... sometimes 2000 rpm. i've changed a shit load of shit ... sensor wise. when i say sensors i mean maf, map, tps, its got a basic tune up. i am really tired of thinking i know everything but that was/is my first mistake. If anyone can tell me what my problem might be... It would be nice.

EurosportZ34
my Euro and Z34 both used to do that when I first started them up on cold days, I think it's pretty normal
Robby1870
Yeah, if its real cold it'll idle up to around 1500 or so then slowly back itself down. Like a carb'd car does, cept you cant tap the gas and make it come down
cutlassdude96
could be a vacuum leak
cryptnix
well it just says that way ... even when i have it in gear... it doesn't subside until i turn the car off... and restart it
93CutlassSupreme
i wouldn't be putting the car into gear at 2000 rpm
cryptnix
i wouldn't be putting the car into gear at 2000 rpm helpful. all i know ... is when she's shutoff and reset she idles fine. or when she's into gear and you press brake to floor it goes down too... if it were a vacuum leak wouldn't it be there ALL the time?! Regal_GS_1989
You could try doing an Idle Relearn. I know that my 88 regal does that when it's cold out. As soon as it starts, it'll go up to 1800 rpm, then agter about a minute, it'll come down to about 1000 rpm.
GnatGoSplat
Does it ever stall? Sounds like a leaky intake manifold gasket. Try spraying carb cleaner at the gasket and see if you can hear/feel any change in RPM. If yes, your gasket is shot.
JoroCorona
Twas what I was gonna say. My Z34 would rev to the limiter on cold mornings, then when it warmed up it was fine. Fun thing dropping into drive at 2500 rpms. Check the intake gaskets.
cryptnix
Does it ever stall? Hasn't yet. Thing that really aggrivates me is that it was changed a year or so ago... but then I've put about 50k on her since. Good grief Its a sad yet freaky thing.
