CutlassSL91 Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 I just purchased a 1990 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme Coupe and was wondering what COLOR the panel lights (NOT the Digital guages) were since mine do not work. Dumb question but I am curious, Thanks! Quote
pitzel Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 They are standard incadescent bulbs, but they shine through filters which give the dash that bluish-greenish sort of colour. Quote
CutlassSL91 Posted November 27, 2004 Author Report Posted November 27, 2004 Oh, so it's basically the same as Cutlass Supremes from the mid to late 90's (which i really like) ? Not the commonly lime green in most cars of the time? Quote
Brian P Posted November 27, 2004 Report Posted November 27, 2004 nope it's aqua, it basically matches your digital cluster. Buick had the GREEN. Have you diagnosed why yours doesnt work? Check the headlight switch? Quote
CutlassSL91 Posted November 27, 2004 Author Report Posted November 27, 2004 There is a short somewhere, the digital parts work, the interior Lamps work, and the indiator lights for fan speed and temp control (which only lights up when the headlights are off. I hope it won't cost much to fix. Quote

The switch gives off separate outputs for dimming of the "digital" readouts, for backlighting, for dome lights, etc. If you're familiar with using a multimeter, I can guide you thru a simple test to see if the headlight switch is giving voltage to the backlight circuit. It does involve removing a couple dash pieces, but it's not that bad. Quote
