Teleslinger
Hey everyone, I bought a 91 Z34 Lumina about a month ago. Paid $600.00, God knows how many real miles are on it. Anyhow the motor ran OK, but it had other issues - front strut bearings, rear brakes, the usual. I'm finally getting around to tidying up the motor. The last owner had the plug wires just draped over the top of the motor & bundled up with zip ties. It looks to me like they want to go under the front cam housing ' cause I see some looms down there. There's another pair of looms down by the coil packs. Anybody got any pics or diagrams as to how they should be routed? Also a diagram of which coils go to which plugs & how they are numbered will be helpful as well. I'm sure I'll have plenty of other questions, so thanks in advance. Teleslinger
White93z34
i just went through this today its a royal PITA to get the wires how the factory had em, basicly the rear ones go under that black plastic piece to the left of the vaulve cover, then all 6 go under that coolant line that runs near the waterpump, then there are a mess of clips that you can use to guide them. most people won't bother with the way the factory shiped em, and i can't blame them. its a bitch to get it right in that cramped room. WhiteOut
The rear wires run over the power steering, under the fuel rail, then in between the front head and timing belt cover. From there they go down behind the exhuast and the run paralell beneath the exhaust to the coil packs. The only easy way to route them like this is to remove the upper plenum, even then it takes some work getting them in correctly. Its actually not as hard as it looks or sounds. Just make sure to have a pair of longer needle nose pliers handy.
