Face
I have a 99 GS and was curious if I could use a rack out of a different W-body for a sportier ratio? Are all w-body racks compatable? I wish I had the steering that my 88 Regal had. TIA!
White93z34
as far as i know buicks tended to get the more "grandma" steering racks, i think there are 3 different ones avaliable, easiest way to figgure out what one you have is to take the wheels all the way to the right then count the turns all the way to the left, the 3 turns to from lock to lock is the not so sporty, then 2.5 turns is somewhat sporty, then i believe the Turbo grand prix got the best one of 2 turns, i may be wrong. i'm sure if i am i will be corrected and as far as i know the racks all interchange. Robby1870
TGP's got the 2.5 turn rack, and there was a 2.25 turn rack for CS intl's in the early 90's, then of course teh standard 3 turn rack. However, as fas as these Gen I racks hooking up to a Gen II.....I dont know
GnatGoSplat
You could probably use a rack out of a 97+ GTP.
93CutlassSupreme
would it really be worth the trouble of changing out the rack? steering racks on fwd cars isn't a half hour job
