3800 series 1 question

this is going to be the beginning of many questions...

I hate to hoe out my buyer of the SC I have for sale but...would that SC off a 1999 L67 fit on the 1990 3800? I don't know the difference between the SC motors and the N/A motors. Are the lower ends stronger or what? this maybe a worth while project!

The injectors on the Series I L67 are mounted in the lower intake manifold. On the Series II L67's, the injectors are mounted in the heads. If you bolted up a Series II supercharger to an L27 block, you'd have nowhere to mount the injectors (and the heads are incompatible as far as I know...)

i'm imagine a first gen L67 swap would be prety easy in a car that already has the gen 1 3800.

The only difference between the series 1 L67 and the Series 1 L27 are the intake manifold, connecting rods, and a differently balanced crankshaft (because of the different rods).

I'm not sure about the dimentions for the M-90 but I'm assuming they're the same it not close to the M-62. The reason why the injectors in the heads on the series 2 L67 is because the series 2 block has a shorter deckheight, so the distance between each bank of the engine is less. hence less space for a s/c and the fuel injectors. so the injectors had to

be moved because there was no space.

my thoughts exactly...what PCM would I used?

you could have just grabbed a chip from a 92,93 (maybe 94,95???) Bonneville that had a s/c.
