Zfreak
I have a 94 Grand Prix SE w/ the 3100 the problem is that After I start the car and drive for a few minutes it begins to buck, skip and almost cut of (Tach goes close to Zero) In need to hold it to the floor and after a second or so It accelerates and once again picks up speed? It will do this about two to three times then clears up!? Do any of you have any suggestions as to what to check, and or replace?
Goph
some what sound like it not getting fuel to it at that point. I don't know too much what would be the problem but others might have a idea. If you haven't changed the fuel filter for some time i would do that but idk if it would help. gpse_97
MAF sensor. I had the same problem on my '97 Grand Prix.
DiscoStudd
MAF sensor.I had the same problem on my '97 Grand Prix. I was thinking the same thing, but my 95 GP's 3100 doesn't have a MAF sensor (but my 96 Lumina's 3100 does, go figure.) I would assume the 94 3100 doesn't have one either. I know the earlier 3100's used a MAP sensor (and I think the newer ones have both a MAF and a MAP.) I had the MAF go out on my 92 LeSabre and the car ran great when I disconnected the plug going to it (but of coruse the Service Engine Soon light stayed on.) Seeing as you took care of the fuel side, try checking your spark. ICM, coils, wires, etc. It could be that your crank sensor on its way out. Might want to replace that as well... joey b
check the ignition contron module. The spark plug wires all run to coils that are attached to it. Does it actually stall?
gpse_97
crank sensor perhaps. I know my MAP sensor connector was lose and it would die all the time.

Smoke1991
i dont know if this sounds stupid to you, but my car kinda acts like that when i disconnect the battery to work on the car, i can be driving my car and the tac keeps bouncin up and down and stalls sometimes. But once i teach it the tach, its happy. u do tach learning procedure?
GPXSS
change the MAP sensor, its hanging off the rear of the plenum. Check to make sure the vacuum hose to it is on good and check the connector (3 pin with clip)
