jeremy Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 told ya it was the alternator.... Quote
GPdriver1986 Posted November 5, 2004 Author Report Posted November 5, 2004 Just put in the alternator and gave the car a boost, everything seems fine, its basicly keeping the voltage at 13 or above depending on the load. Hopefully its just the battery getting charged from the abuse today. Oh yeah and that $112 for the alternator thats in Canadian dollars so thats about $90 US. Thanks alot for the help guys , i really appreciate it!!!!!!!!!!! Quote
sl3196 Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 Did you happen to charge the battery? Sounds good other then that. Quote
GPdriver1986 Posted November 5, 2004 Author Report Posted November 5, 2004 well the battery seems fine because the car starts up, won't the alternator eventually charge the battery? anyways i can put it on a charger overnight. Quote
sl3196 Posted November 5, 2004 Report Posted November 5, 2004 It would ease the strain on the alternator if the battery is low. Throw it on the charger overnight just to be safe. Quote
gp90se Posted November 6, 2004 Report Posted November 6, 2004 have the battery tested outside the car, and old battery thats dying will take an alternator with it. If you wanna go all out, replace the positive wire to the starter and the ground stap/wire. I ran a spare wire from the positive post thing on the firewall to the alternator to make sure I was getting a damn good charge, had a 2800 watt system setup for the car, but never got a chance to put it in.
