no1kicker Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 Does this really cost $75 to rent? That's what autozone told me on the phone today. The guy didn't seem all there, so I'm wondering if he had the right tool. Pep boys says they don't have it, I could swear they do. I guess it doesn't matter too much, since it's a rental. Just want to make sure I get the right tool. BTW I just did the rear KYB's on Sunday. The old struts, probably originals, wouldn't even stay up by themselves they were so dead. No more bouncing at slow speeds either. Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 it's probably just a $75 deposit. the Checker here has that tool for rent. Quote
patgizz Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 i took mine from a guy who owes me money so it cost me $100 to buy apparently. i got the OEM brand kit with everything but a ratchet. Quote
DaveFromColorado Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 I got my kit from Snap On - I won't even tell ya what I paid for it, but I can use my air-impact on it (even tho you're not suposed to) --Dave. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 You get the $75 back when you bring the tool back. Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 Costs about $20 to buy from Ebay. Quote

Guest Anonymous Posted November 4, 2004 Report Posted November 4, 2004 What does this tool do? It's everything you need in one kit to change struts on a w-body. Quote
