KING JOKER Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 yesterday i went on a little trip to drop off my friends kids from a sleepover they had at my brothers house with his kids and i am about 30 miles from home and the cutlass starts to overheat. after it starts to over heat it then stalls. so im like wtf. :?: so i check everything and the car is runnin like shit and i notice the fans are not turning on. so i called a friend with a tow truck and got it dropped off at my parents mechanics shop because i didnt have any idea what was wrong so i go and pick up the car today and the mechanic says it was the computer so he reset it. so im thanking god that it wasn't anything then he tells me i am leaking oil. like i didnt know that so i gotta change the valve covers and the oil pump dive seal whatever the hell its called and the cutty will be up and running again. Regal_GS_1989 Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 I had the same thing happen to my 89 Regal GS. All i can say is pray that you didn't crack the heads. If your mechanic pulls off the heads, check in between the valves for a small crack. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted November 2, 2004 Report Posted November 2, 2004 Oil pump drive seal is so easy to change, I don't see why you don't do it yourself. Same goes for the valve covers.. Quote
KING JOKER Posted November 2, 2004 Author Report Posted November 2, 2004 i am going to do the seal and the valve covers but i always take my car to the garge to see whats wrong with it first then i fix it myself Quote
