w-bodys_are_the_best
I was just curious, i've been reading some posts about cutlass's with 3.4's and 5 speeds, i've been looking for one ever since i knew they were made and almost since i've had my 94 cutlass, so for about a year and a half i've been searching for a 5 speed cutty with the 3.4 DOHC, i've finally found one about an hour from where i live, i read that in 91 there were 109 coupes made like that, but nothing about 92, wich i did read was the last year they were made like that. well i was just wondering how many were made in 92 and how many were made as 4-door sedans, wich i figured are very rare, maybe they're not, but you would think most would have been ordered as a coupe since that is the most powerful and sporty drivetrain they would want the sporty 2-door coupe look you would think. If anyone has some info on the production numbers for 92 i would like to know. I am pretty sure i will be buying this one i just wanna know how rare it is, it's a 92 cutlass black 4 door with the 3.4 and getrag 284 5 speed, it has 140k on it, but has been taken care of very well, and always had fully synthetic fluids, and always changed on time, and looks very nice still. any knowledge would be helpful thanks my other cutlass is a 94 with the 3100 sfi, it's burgundy with matching burgundy leather, bought in texas with 72k miles, and in mint shape, well about 6 months ago a deer thought it would be fun to run out in front of it while i was doing 70mph, thankfully there was no damage to the fenders, but the hood was mangled pretty bad, and everything in front of the header panel was demolished, so now the poor thing has a white hood, and header panel assembely from a 92 donor coupe, plan on repainting it and gettting new bumper cover and foglights, but i'm saving to buy the 5 speed cutlass, my 94 is still running strong with 160k on it now. here are some pics of it before the deer. Vegeta
the 91s are more rare overall. 93 also seems to be pretty rare with 92 not being rare at all. Maybe that particular setup wasn't made many times but probably more than we all realize. I have only seen 2 people total now with any 93 car 3.4 DOHC 5 speed. EurosportZ34
Cutties are pretty much a dime-a-dozen around here, just like all the base Luminas and all trims of Grand Prixs...although all the Cutties that I see are all automatic 3100's
w-bodys_are_the_best
sorry about the pics guys, but when i buy it, i'll get better ones, i've actually test drove the cutlass in subject, it's a black 4-door 92 3.4 5-speed it's got power locks manual windows, but all the guages of course, very nice cosmetic condition with only a touch of fading starting on some of the plastic, interior is in nice shape exept the armrest is shot like in almost all cutlass'. it drives very nice yet (140k on the odo), the clutch felt a little funny, but i was told it just feels funny in those cars. I probably just aint used to it cause the only manual i've driven for quite awhile is my 68 beetle. it was in very nice shape though, and was a pleasure to drive, i barely ran it up and only had about maybe half throttle, and it got up to speed quick on the on ramp. Thanks for the help, if anyone can find the production numbers let me know, this is the only 4-door i've seen with a 5-speed i've been lookin on ebay and every other site, and also locally, and have never seen one in 1.5-2years, i think it's a very good find, thanks
GP1138
it's got power locks manual windows' date=' but all the guages of course[/quote'] I hate how these cars are sometimes optioned. My Euro came with the highest option package (PEG2) I'm told, and yet it also came with the horrible THM125c 3-speed transmission. :? It just doesn't make sense to me. Why offer a 3-speed on a high option package car, when 4-speeds were available from day one on the lowest optioned LE car? I think power steering is one of them.
rudefyet
power steering was an option on my 90 Ford Ranger so that doesn't suprise me too much mine didn't have power steering ...in fact it didn't have one single option
