Guest TurboSedan
Luk Rep-Set. they cost $160 from a local shop for the '90 GP 3.1/5-speed application. get the flywheel resurfaced too, that will probably only cost another $15. proabably a good time to replace the rear main seal if it's leaking... 5sp gp
i got the clutch. does anyone know what the torque specs are for the flywheel and pressure plate and should i use any loctite on them
Justin
Flywheel To Crankshaft Bolt 52 ft.lb Clutch Cover To Flywheel 21 ft.lb I guess it couldn't hurt to use loctite, but it's not required. These specs are for a 1991 model year 3.1 W body.

These specs are for a 1991 model year 3.1 W body. i use red loc-tite on the flywheel-to-crank bolts as well as the pressure plate-to-flywheel bolts. make sure you tighten the bolts evenly in a criss-cross pattern; you don't want to warp anything. 5sp gp
thanks i will use loctite just to be safe the car is a 89 and has hard shifting problems so i hope this helps
Guest TurboSedan
Flywheel To Crankshaft Bolt 52 ft.lb Clutch Cover To Flywheel 21 ft.lb btw, my Haynes manual lists the same torque specs and those are the torque specs i have always used. fwiw i've never had a bolt come loose. the hard shifting might be due to air in the hydraulic system (clutch master/slave clyinders). good luck! Justin
Check the fluid in your trans, sometimes if it gets really low you could have some hard shifting issues there as well.
