Scr00ge
I'm talking about the passenger side mount that the ac bolts to. Does the timing gear cover have to come off to remove this mount from the motor? I have all the bolts out of the mount, and there is a stud right next to the exhaust manifold that the mount slides onto. I can't lift the mount high enough to clear the stud without it hitting where the waterhose connects to the water pump housing which is also part of the timing gear cover. This is the only thing from keeping me from droping my new motor back into my car. Need help please. It is the 3100 sfi. Scr00ge

Brian P
unfortunately if that stud is smooth (meaning there's no star pattern on it for a socket) then the timing cover has to come out. The stud IS threaded, and with some head bolt kits, they give the stud that's removable with a torx bit.
