chevyguy3100 Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 I have done a lot to my 2nd gen Lumina, as some of you may know. If not check it out (http://www.cardomain.com/id/chevyguy96 or http://www25.brinkster.com/customlumina). Anyways, I was wandering how to add an oil pressure gauge and fuel pressure gauge to my car. Is there a reading I could use to run the gauge or do I need a sensor? Thanks! Oh and keep an eye out for my car at the end of this summer, I have some good ideas brewing that should be completed bout then... ' preciate it Quote
Robby1870 Posted January 4, 2003 Report Posted January 4, 2003 Do you have a Haynes Manual?? If so, check in the back in the wiring diagrams. My 92 GP did not come with a tachometer, and I wanted to put one in and found a tach wire in one of the bundles and spliced into that wire. There maybe some wires like that for you lumina, wires that do what you want them too, but aren't used now. If 2nd gen Luminas were available with oil press. gauges, there may be a wire for it. If not, the guage you buy might have a sensor with it that will replace your stock one, but it will be on the engine block somewhere, have fun finding that. I don't know about the fuel pressure, sorry Quote
chevyguy3100 Posted January 5, 2003 Author Report Posted January 5, 2003 Oksy, I know that much... Can anyone tell me anymore... Quote
1trucavalier Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 you got some guage pods? If not i found a set that will mold right to your pillar with a heat gun. Mine looks almost like it was meant to be there. I have to find the name of the company i forgot. If your are interested send me an e-mail. I got it at autozone but the company has a website. I got the dual guage pod. Quote
Redfox340 Posted January 7, 2003 Report Posted January 7, 2003 Chevyguy3100, You'll have to (most likely) run some sort of extra fuel line to hook up to the guage or sneder unit. I heard and seen some that people connect it before the fuel pressure regulator and others in 'shady' areas that I wouldn't call safe. Autometer has .PDF files that give you instructions where and how to place your gauges... also, take a look at the difference of mechanical vs. electircal and see what's more fitting for you. Best of luck! http://www.autometer.com - RedFox340 Quote
