fierofanatic Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 POS, the new tranny I put in my car 3 weeks ago, is now "locking" up in Reverse, going straight is fine, but if backing up a few feet, it'll slam and feel like the car hit another car, you can rev it, but it feels like somethings holding it tight, any ideas? I was told the transmission had 37k miles on it, and the receipt even said its 37k miles, but the warranty expires today!!! I can't stand this $1200, take the car for $1200, has a new alternator, and new mufflers from this summer. I've already lost enough money, I'm sure someone else can have better luck than me, 111,500 miles. My loss, is $2000+ Quote
jeremy Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 drive the car to the yard where you got the tranny and show them that the tranny locks up in reverse.....obviously do it today if the warranty runs out today Quote
GP1138 Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 That doesn't sound like a good thing  on what Jeremy said. Get it down there PDQ! You're wasting time! Quote
DaveFromColorado Posted October 22, 2004 Report Posted October 22, 2004 either the reverse roller clutches are going bad and locking up when they shouldn't be, or there's a problem in the valve body which is allowing fluid to energize one of the forward gears. --Dave. Quote
