the VSS is near the diff right above where the intermediate shaft comes out. i have a couple spare 282 VSS here if you need one. reverse switch is kinda on top of the trans under where the air box sits i think.

the VSS pigtail is different? i can't even remember right now, but i thought they were the same. i used a 3.1/5-speed wiring harness from the donor car when i did the swap so i don't really have any idea how to modify the 3.1/auto harness.

i could probably get pigtails from the j/y though. i'm not sure when i'll be there though (j/y are out of town).

ah i completely forgot which engine you were using

i only have one oddball 282 cable but it's too long for a W-body. it came from an '88 Grand Prix but it's longer than the cables i use in my Cutlass by several inches (it's 63" long if i remember right...the ones i use are about 57" long). it might still work in a W-body, never tried. i'm not sure if it's the selector cable or crossover cable at the moment. if you still need that cable end (tranny side) i think i can pull it off the oddball 282 cable i have. i had an extra set of cables but sold them to Justin a few months ago sorry.

the only reason i need new cables is because the shifter (i think i got from you) is a tiny bit different. I think i might drill a hole and put a cotter pin in it.

i definitly need those clips i am going to try the dealer tomorrow...take the pics with me

The VSS is the same as the one used on the 4t60 and I'm pretty sure the connector for the reverse switch has to come from a 282 w-body.

Worse case you could always change the connector on the reverse switch to match one you can easily get.
