I know that the latches on to top you have to do by had but can oyu have like an automatic top, like and your alarm system you can automaticaly let down your windows, could you use a feature like that with the top ? Would it also be posible to have a flip down 13 inch monitor on the rollbar?

Um... I'm not the greatest electrican but I know that's going to be one hell of a project trying to find and splice wires to create such a combo for the convertable top. As for the screen, clearance of the top is all you'll need to worry about and how to wire in the sounds... but that's too much for me, the reason you buy a car is to drive and get to destinations. Personally, I think too many 'ricers' put in PS2's and DVD players to deter people to realize how fast they CAN'T go... I just wanna hug some curves! :P

Yes, you could modify the latches to be motorized, but you would need some fabrication to mount the motors. You'd also need to find motors compact enough BUT also with enough torque to move the latches. I don't know that any motors small enough to fit in the top would have enough torque to rotate the latches, but I could be wrong.

You would also need to add limit switches so the motors know when to stop, and to automate it with an alarm, you might need a microcontroller to read the microswitches and drive the motor based on a ground signal from your alarm (most alarm auxilliary channels have a grounding output). It would be complicated for certain. I know, because I have thought of doing it too!

Sure, you could put a flipdown 13" monitor on the rollbar if you want, but when you have it flipped up it'll look goofy with the top down.
