john99gtp
hey there. Lately, something weird has been going on with my engine not to sure what it is: Whenever I am at WOT (eg: drag racing), my car runs great until it shifts into third gear. It gets into third gear, and less then a second later, i lose boost and my RPMs decrease. Its really hard to describe, but today was my first day racing with a real boost gauge, and when it shifted into third, i was ~9psi, then it fell to about 4, and i lost power (not electrical, horsepower wise). It seemed to only do this after i put my Intense PCM in, but im not to sure i can blame that (unless the PCM limits the amount of boost, it might, but im a newb to these engines ) Im a newb to these engines, like i said above, so im not to sure where to point the finger at. If anyone has any idea, please let me know, and thanks in advanced. John Current mods: 3.5" pulley, Wizair CAI, Intense PCM, AutoLite 104's, and 180 TStat
sl3196
Did you ever get a case learn done? Dunno if that would cause it or not. Something might be wrong with the boost bypass valve to.

john99gtp
Did you ever get a case learn done? Dunno if that would cause it or not. Something might be wrong with the boost bypass valve to. i messed around with the boost bypass, before i did any mods i pushed it down, but i reset it now (and somehow gained 1/10th in the 1/4 mile from doing that). If it will shift into third and hold, id be a happy man

gpse_97
hmm thats strange, did it happen right after you did the Intense PCM? what other mods did you do right before this happened? I doubt the PCM can limit boost, so I don't think that is the problem. Perhaps something with the Boost Bypass needs adjustment.
sl3196
Did you get the case learn done? Might want to change your belt too, I've heard napa belts grip the best.
manitcor
this is an issue with the Intense PCM as I understand it. A friend of mine is having the excat same issue. The PCM allows boost for a certain amount of time. Intense sent him a new PCM but he has yet to test to see if it fixes the problem.

From what I seen the Boost Bypass is mechanically controlled.

Im not sure of the details of what is happening, I just know that he expierneced the same issue with the intense PCM and after troubleshooting determined that it is the PCM and intense sent him a new one.
