Carotop Posted October 9, 2004 Author Report Posted October 9, 2004 Anybody...........Anybody??? Quote
93CutlassSupreme Posted October 10, 2004 Report Posted October 10, 2004 stock piping is 2" Outside Diamater. i measured my car last weekend while doing some exhaust work of my own. Quote
Carotop Posted October 11, 2004 Author Report Posted October 11, 2004 So all that matters is the size of the openings and how long the muffler is? Sounds easy enough to me Quote
sonyman87 Posted October 11, 2004 Report Posted October 11, 2004 yeah your not going to find a normal muffler that is 2 long to fit. i have flow 40 with 6inches or more of tip welded onto them and they dont stick out past my bumper. Quote
Carotop Posted October 17, 2004 Author Report Posted October 17, 2004 Well my friends I finally found out why I was running my exhaust so loud. Well for the last month or so my tailpipe has been hangin real low so lats night I went out to see if something was loose. I looked up ender there and I couldn't tell if it was loose so I shook it and the intermediate pipe broke and the muffler fell. So it seems to me that the whole system is rusted at least on the outside. Oh yah and can I go up to 2.5" pipes? Also what kinda muffler and setup would give me a muscle car type sound? Quote
Dirty Rockstar Posted October 18, 2004 Report Posted October 18, 2004 Flowmaster 40s give ya the sound you want.. As for the outlet size, sure, you could go to 2.5s.. But, if you want to be easy about it, get as Dual exhjaust fork from the cat back off a JunkYard GP.. It's 2.25", and Flowmaster makes mufflers that are 2.25" with the center in and offset out or vice versa.. Good luck! Quote
