f_399
I have the steering wheel stereo buttons. I want them to work with my aftermarket stereo. I went to cartoys there is a kit for $80!!! it uses the infrared from the remote... is this too expensive?? Also $60 to install!!! ___________________________________ Panasonic Head unit w/remote Lumina 97 with cd player as a stock unit
Brian P
PAC SWI-X look online for it (ebuhbay) cheaper and I can personally tell you it works great.
DiscoStudd
Go to LogJam Electronics and look for the SoundGate Remote 1.5V4 or if you have a Pioneer, REMPIOGM which plugs directly into the wired remote port of the head unit. IMHO, the SoundGate is waaaaaay easier to use than the PAC SWI-X because you never have to program it. The REMPIOGM is truly plug and play. With the Remote 1.5 V4 you will have to mount the IR emitter, but you can just drill a hole in the stereo's install kit and poke it through there... I have the Remote 1.5 V4 and it was an easy 3 wire hook-up right at the stereo harness...
