Bullitt
I have heard the debate and I have searched the site, but Iam trying to find a way to replace the o-ring without taking the head off on my 3.4L. Is there a write up on it anywhere to do it without removing the head???
slick
I'm almost 100% sure you have to remove the head.
sonyman87
the head has to come off to get the thing out. not worth it IMO. wha tyou can do is take the bolt that holdsd it down and lift it a little and clean under it and seal it up with some silicone and reclamp it

Justin
Yeah I siliconed mine and it didn't help for very long at all. My next step is going to be the maglite flashlight o-ring under the cap.

Jesus.. it's just an o-ring, no need to get all bent out of shape about it. some people don't have the time to pull the cylinder head off, or the money to have someone else do it. Justin
some people don't have the time to pull the cylinder head off, or the money to have someone else do it. I have both, what I don't have is a Lumina worth spending that kind of time or money on. WHY?! Just go to the dealer, and get the damn O-ring.. it's a $1.25 and guaranteed to work and last. Jesus.. Simmer down now. A maglite oring fits under the cap, without pulling the shaft out. You just pop it up and slide it on there, and it's supposed to work fairly well.
