GutlessSupreme Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 VACUUM!!!! do you think it is the tb bypass the idel air needding set or what. what? Quote
dohc v6 Posted September 28, 2004 Author Report Posted September 28, 2004 i have gone thru everything with vaccume. i dont know what else it could be. it starts up awsome. and the question was do you think it could be the iac needing to be reset Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 the point of me posting VACUUM was because nobody can spell it right Quote
JoroCorona Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Reseting the IAC might help, but I'm not sure. You said it only happends when the AC is on? The compressor might have some mechanical friction and is putting alot of stress on the motor. Have someone check your AC pressure and clutch. If you wanna reset the IAC, the quick and dirty was is just to pull the fucker out the TB, pull it ass far out as possible without pulling the plunger out of the IAC and stick it back in. The ECU has a shit fit for about 2-3 seconds but then it gets itself together. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Make sure your TB is on tight (and that the gasket is not leaking).. when I took mine off to get at the t-stat I forgot to tighten the one bolt and it idled horribley.. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 Also I was wondering.. my car doesn't seem to have any coolant lines on/around the TB...?? I took my TB completely off to get at my t-stat so I'm assuming it might have been taken off before.?? Quote
sonyman87 Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 i dont know HOW you can coolant bypass the TB b/c the lines are BUILT in the TB itself. coolent enters the upper intake goes threw a quck connect to the lower intake with the T-state housing and temp sensor built into it much needed! and that goes strait to your radiator. They are NOT built into the TB. If you remember correctly, there are rubber elbows running INTO the TB. It's obviously not hard-piped. That would make no sense. To bypass it, just take a 90 degree elbow ($2.50 part) and stick it on the end of the inlet hose and shove it on the outlet one. There you have a TB bypass. Quote
GutlessSupreme Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 we're talking about 4 different engines in this thread guys.. (3.1, 3100, 3.4, 3.8).. different? probably Quote

dohc v6 Posted September 29, 2004 Author Report Posted September 29, 2004 what do you think it is. i think it could either be a faulty spark plug, iac, or the computer. anything sound resonable. Quote

The only way into the T-state housing is threw the intake manifold... do you have any pics of this bypass i would like to see this version of it Quote

dohc v6 Posted September 29, 2004 Author Report Posted September 29, 2004 does anybody know what is wrong with my idle Quote
gp90se Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 where are the pics? on a 3.4 car, the bypass is a little different. you knocked a vacuum line loose or cracked the TB gasket Quote
dohc v6 Posted September 30, 2004 Author Report Posted September 30, 2004 can you have a small lower intake leak. i think it could be the smallest leak in the lower intake. it is only bad with air on or car in park Quote
dohc v6 Posted October 2, 2004 Author Report Posted October 2, 2004 i am takin the tb bypass off. when ever i drive it drips just a little and it smokes out my hood vents like crazy and smells nasty. so i put stocky back on. Quote
