Black5spdZ Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Anyone change the sc pulley without the tool and use like a 2 or 3 jaw puller Quote
sl3196 Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 DO NOT USE ANYTHING BESIDES THE SPECIFIC PULLER MADE FOR IT!!!!!!!!! You will fuck shit up badly! Just rent the correct puller from the site you get the pulley from. Quote
BadBuick Posted September 28, 2004 Report Posted September 28, 2004 Dude definately do not do this to your car. You will screw up the S/C snout and threads!! Its making me cringe already. Here is what can happen otherwise with a jaw... When doing the swap dont forget to reset your PCM by pulling the underhood fuse or disconnecting the negative battery cable. Also, dont be afraid to use anti-seize lubricant when necessary. Quote

Be sure to install the pulley correctly too, theres a guy up here with an L67 who took a hammer to his new pulley putting it on and it is sitting at a good 10* angle. Im surprised the belt even stays on. Quote

loominaz34 Posted September 29, 2004 Report Posted September 29, 2004 I bet it wouldn't have been so bad if he'd taken the nut in the middle off first. Quote

Hey john next month I should have it!!! I also have to buy both new belts and new plugs and change the s/c oil. All I have to do is pay shipping from denver and back for the puller. Quote
