MonteMan
I own a 1996 Monte Carlo. I am wanting to do something kind of original with it. i was wonderin if it is possible to convert it to rear wheel drive. I was told by car enthusiasts in my town that i could possibly set it on a different Chassis. What serious modifications am i looking at if it is even possible? manitcor
A different chassis.......more like a whole new car. Ws are unibodies....the car is the chassis nahh, in reality its been done a few times but by well funded parties. Modfications to the body include the hump for the lateral transmission and flared fenders to accomdate the rear end. The is certainly room in the engine bay for it. Of course now that its been proven that an LS1 can be installed transversely on a 4t65 transmission I would find that a much more impressive project for someone to do in thier garage
Robby1870
I know it can be done, but realisticly, under a budget, which most people on this site are, its not worth it. Just buy a RWD Monte from the 80s
Intimidatorz34
Just buy a late model racecar, swap interiors and headlights, and put on some street tires.
