THe_DeTAiL3R
I think they leak right in the pully.. so when they spin fast they fling fluid to random areas..
hosser
My p/s pump is not leaking at all, the levels are steady, but it has been making a awful noise. The problem only occurs when im doing under 40 mph, ovbiously because there is more traction on the wheels. When i relieve pressure from the steering wheel it makes a grinding-like noise. And when im parked and there is no pressure on the wheel the noise changes and sounds like a piece of metal is rattling. I havent noticed that the p/s pump is getting weak at all, just the annyoing noise. Any imput?

Correct, pump shaft seal, a 5 dollar part. Make sure you clean the shaft of rust with some really fine sandpaper, 600 grit or so, this will prevent premature failure of the new seal.
