stockgp Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 forgot to post this the other day, but while i was at the junk yard i saw my very first 4-banger w. it was a cutty with what i assume was the LO q4. all i remember seeing on it was 16v. it was a white (or light grey?) 4 door with column shift and i think* red interior. ok just thought i'd share Quote
wally05 Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Very cool, man, yeah, it must be a LO (normal) quad 4 as the HO ones have "high output" right above the quad 4 lettering. I've never seen one except for mine. Korey Quote
stockgp Posted September 24, 2004 Author Report Posted September 24, 2004 i thought it was neat. i also got to see my first iron duke lumina. but for some reason i wasn't nearly as impressed by that Quote
TeeJay3800 Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 That's cool because you know its a rare car. I e-mailed Oldsmobile a while ago asking for production specs for the '90 model year. Turns out there were NO LO Quad 4's put it Cutlass Supremes in 1990. So I assume that any CS with a LO Q4 is a pretty rare car. Quote
91GPSTE Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 I saw one at a junkyard too. Had Quad 4 badges on front fenders. Quote
Guest BeausoleilRacing Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 Want rare? In 1990, my brother's best friend's mom bought a CS 4 door with the HO Q4 and 5 speed. That car was a blast! Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 slightly off topic, but I saw my first TGP today. Quote
digitaloutsider Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 I saw a 1993 GP in the yard with HUD.. but no DIC. I didn't even know that was a possible combination. Quote
White93z34 Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 i've seen a few quad 4 cars at yards and such. prety neat engine. Quote

wally05 Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 I wonder what the production numbers are for my car... HO q4 5speed, ive been wondering that for awhile. Korey Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 what are the specs on this quad 4? The guy at the dealership said they are a PITA to work on, worse than the 3.4 Quote
wally05 Posted September 24, 2004 Report Posted September 24, 2004 they have the specs on this site, but it's 160hp for the LO, 180 for the HO I believe. Yeah, it doesnt look like it's fun to work on, tune ups with be a bitch. Korey Quote
Canada Posted September 25, 2004 Report Posted September 25, 2004 The motor is hella easier to work on........espesically in the W body engine bay. About the only *bad* job is water pumps.........at least on 2.4 Cavys........there there might be ehough room on the back side to do it on a GP. HO Quads only came with 5 speeds......and yes, 180 hp.........W41s made like 190-195......different cams and PCM. Quote
