Regal_GS_1989 Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 I've got an 89 regal with about 376000Kms (236000miles) on it. Its got a 4spd AOD tranny that has never been rebuilt or replaced. Anyways, when i accelerate hard from 30-40 km/h (15-22)MPH, the engine revs up, but the tranny seems to slip just a little bit. It only does this in this speed range. Could a fluid/filter change correct this? PS: I would never think of putting any additives in the tranny. Quote
White93z34 Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 if you've never changed the fluid do it. Quote
z34_nut Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 err, it MIGHT be your tranny fluid, but heres a good check, slight accelleration under meduim throttle in a corner. if it slips there, its more then likely your tranny. Quote

rudefyet Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 PS: I would never think of putting any additives in the tranny. Why? ask DaveFromColorado he's got a good reason Quote
JoroCorona Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 Lucas is your friend. Jesus, 236k miles? And you exspect it NOT to slip? Are you on crack? More then likely the trans has all sorts of issues. Why would you buy something with that many miles? Quote

Change the filter, and use either synthetic tranny fluid or valvolines old age tranny fluid and see if it shifts any better. Quote
