Guest Anonymous
In the auction watch, i was made aware of a 3.4 for sale. The desc rfiption states that the compression ratio was upgraded for 9.5/1 to 10.6/1 what is the correct, original compression ratio, and does this 10.6/1 seem correct in his claim that it puts out ~250-300 hp? Just trying to figure out if this is ligit... and can my tranny handle this :"extra power"?
Robby1870
for DOHCs CRs changed a lot over the years, but anywhere from 9.25-9.6, I think, were stock numbers.
Guest Anonymous
So maybe this is a ligitimate setup and i should act accordingly on it.

Guest Anonymous
excellant. does the 10.6:1 ratio seem reasonable to you, since he bored it out?

Canada
From what I;ve read.......in general, one full "jump" in CR (9:1 to 10:1....or what have you).....is worth about 10 hp, everything else being the same.............can anyone confirm or deny this? slick
Heres some good reading: http://www.jr333.com/pontiac/compression.htm http://www.btinternet.com/~mezporting/header.html So basically it looks like maybe a 10 HP gain, at the most, from a say a 9.1 to a 10.1 compression ratio. You are absolutly correct on smokem up .com their effective compression ratio calculator i entered 9.5:1 then i entered 1psi boost(eram) and it said i had a 10.1:1 effective compression ratio... something of that nature and im only getting 5-8hp from the increase
