oooo lemme guess, dynomax muffler? both mine did that for a while and frankly, I liked it, gave it a different noise. You will have to change mufflers to get a different sound, but you can try getting the mufflers hot (driving around for 45 minutes or so) and spray inside the muffler with ice cold water, pull a glasspack kinda thing and will change the sound

I got an 89 Regal GS With the factory muffler and no cat, and it sounds sort of like that, but only when it's cold. When it warms up, it sound a bit better. But i got to change my muffler cuz it's got 376000 kms on it. It sound cool at idle though.

go out and buy either a magnaflow muffler, or a walker if u want quiet, and have them put it on. it sounds like backpressure in the muffler, and since that has 2 be a turbo muffler (no baffles) it shakes everything. my vote is buy a magnaflow, make them put it on and be done with it,

there are lots of companys that make "oem" parts, whick loosely translates to some companies making shoddy "oem replacement parts" which flat out suck, body pannels are a prime example of that and i'm more then sure it falls into the muffler world too

its a canadian tire, factory oem exaust and yes it does get better after it heats up but, as you can hear I was laughing, it spretty odd sounding

FACTORY exhuast? That is is no factory exhuast. Way too loud to be the stock exhuast setup. My 3.1 was almost silent with the factory exhaust when I first bought it.

Drill a 1/8" hole in the muffler for the water to drain out in the lowest spot on the muffler. Then start it up and let it run till all the water runs out and look under the car at all the spots where the exhaust is connected and see if it's leaking. Usually you will see smoke coming out and sometimes there would even be drops of water. Another thing is pop the hood and shine a flashlight behind the motor where cat connects to manifold. Most likely they screwed up the donut gasket that sits there and now it is leaking. Or worse the 2 bolts and springs that hold the cat in place rusted away and that spot started leaking.
