99RegalGS Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 Last week I picked up a International bumper. Yesterday I sanded it and put the first coat of paint on it. Today I finished painting the bumper and switch the front bumpers. It looks soooo much better. Here is a pic of the new bumper after I sanded it. Here's the cutlass w/o the bumper. I also noticed that the bumpers are a different style. weird Anyway Here's the before and after Before: And here's it now. I'm going to try to take better pics tomorrow. Quote
Brian P Posted September 18, 2004 Report Posted September 18, 2004 much better.....you painted with a sprayer? Quote
99RegalGS Posted September 18, 2004 Author Report Posted September 18, 2004 much better.....you painted with a sprayer? No. I used some Duplicolor spray cans. I think I did pretty well for spray paint. Quote
Brian P Posted September 19, 2004 Report Posted September 19, 2004 I'm not hot on spray cans but if I had to pick one, it WOULD be duplicolor hands down. The few times I use it, always get good results and a perfect match. Quote
99RegalGS Posted September 20, 2004 Author Report Posted September 20, 2004 Yeah, the paint turned out pretty good. Here's a better pic that I took today. Dirty already... Quote

jeremy Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 I liked the style of the first one better, but the "new" one obviously looks better due to the paint.... Quote
GnatGoSplat Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 It doesn't look like it shines much, but it does look much better. Quote
EurosportZ34 Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 looks sweet, i love cooler *stock* bumpers on cars Quote
slick Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 It doesn't look like it shines much, but it does look much better. I'm with Shawn on this one. Quote
99RegalGS Posted September 21, 2004 Author Report Posted September 21, 2004 If the oldbumper wasn't missing all the paint I would have kept it, even though it was missing a chunk of it. The paint on the bumper isn't as shiny, but I didn't put a clear coat on it either, so maybe that's it. Maybe after a few coats of wax it will get better. Quote
TeeJay3800 Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Looks good, Sean. I would definitely put 1 or 2 coats of clear coat on and then use Nu Finish. That should really help it shine better. Quote
Stevo Posted September 21, 2004 Report Posted September 21, 2004 Buffing would help the shine come out. Nice work with the spray bombs through. Quote
cutlsp Posted September 22, 2004 Report Posted September 22, 2004 is it just me or does the old bumper look like it came off a sl cutlass? since it doesn't appear to have the vent things in it :? Quote
99RegalGS Posted September 22, 2004 Author Report Posted September 22, 2004 An SL bumper. lol I'll try to find a buffer to get it to shine more. Quote
jeremy Posted September 23, 2004 Report Posted September 23, 2004 don't forget to add some clear coat too.... Quote
99RegalGS Posted September 23, 2004 Author Report Posted September 23, 2004 yes, I'll need to get some of that too. Quote
