Scr00ge
Just found this site and I think it's great. It looks like there is a whole lot of info here. I have a 95 Cutlass Supreme sitting in my driveway with a bad 3100 in it. I have owned it since 96 and it had 17,000 miles on it when I got it. Now it has 126,000 miles on it and the motor went bad. I found a 3100 locally out of a 97 Lumina. What would I have to do to the Lumina motor to get it to work in the Cutlass? I'm going to go buy it if it isn't going to be to much of a problem to work in my Cutlass. Thanks for any info in advance. I plan on getting started on this soon as possible. jeremy
it is a direct swap, but if I were you I would get a 3400 and throw that in instead......just as easy, and more HP...

DiscoStudd
It's as "Plug-and-Play" as anything's going to get! It will drop in place without any modifications whatsoever. Just be sure to use the harness and ECM from your 95 instead of the one from the 97 (the 97 is OBD II and the 95 is OBD I.) Now that I think about it, you might have to use the upper intake manifold (plenum) from the 95 because the EGR valve is different on the 97, and not compatible with the 95's computer... Scr00ge
Thanks guys, you just made up my mind. I'm going to call the guy right now and tell him I want it. It only has 37,000 miles on it and he wants $650 for the complete motor. Does that sound reasonable? Scr00ge

DiscoStudd
I've seen late model (2001-up) 3400's go for less than $500 with around the same mileage, so maybe you should try to talk them down a bit. Just my $.02, that's all ...
