93GTP Posted September 10, 2004 Report Share Posted September 10, 2004 Does anyone know if the newer style alternator (94+) will fit my '93 gtp? My alt. has died on me and I want to upgrade to the newer, more reliable one. However, I'm guessing that the plug on the wiring harness is probably different. I know I can simply compare the 2 alts when I head out to the rebuilder's, but I was wondering if anyone can answer my question beforehand. Has anyone done this? DiscoStudd Posted September 10, 2004 Report Share Posted September 10, 2004 I assume this is what you have now (seeing as you have a 93) This is the CS130: And this is what you want. This is the CS130D: I'd say find a car with a 3.4 that has the CS130D, take all of the brackets and the plug. Wire up the plug to your car's harness, bolt up the brackets and the alt and away you go! But I still don't know if the plug on my 93's harness will plug into the CS130D, or even if the CS130D will bolt in the same way (although I'm pretty sure it does).
