Jon89le
How can you tell if you have a broken strut mount on the front end? Whenever i make turns, hit brakes/gas, i hear a thunk. When i installed my front springs, i noticed that the damper that goes onto of the strut (the rubber thing you see when you remove the top strut plate) was ripped. The rubber had a crack/rip all around the inside edge. Even tho its ripped, would that allow the strut to move back and forth? Could it be the mount? Brakes are fine, baljoints are new, motor mounts both upper and lower are new as are the 4 cradle bushings. Any help is really appreciated. The metal hitting is really annoying. Baddflash
Well if you say the strut mount is torn than I would have it replaced cause that's probably the cause?
Jon89le
My car is apparently FE2 and the damper is over $100 each.
Baddflash
Well I've spent around $3000 replacing everything for my suspension so $400 doesn't sound bad to me.
