Run time after pulling fuel pump relay

Ok, so I am accomplishing the task of changing the oil pump drive gaskets as indicated on this website, 3.1L V6 1992 Cutlass Supreme.

After 10 minutes of running the engine at idle, after I pulled the fuel pump relay, the car is still running. The 'service engine light soon' is on.

How long should it take for the engine to die after the relay has been removed? Should I pull the injector fuse as well?

I made the same mistake. Pull the fuse that's right near there. It's the pump and ECM fuse.

Thanks. Now just for it to stop raining out there so that I can get the 'rest' of the job done. Actually seems to go pretty quick once you get to it.

Okay, just an update, have the throttle body removed (cooling lines are a real b*tch).

It would seem to me that replacement of a couple cooling lines would be a good idea while i'm in the process. Anyone else? And any reason why I shouldn't replace the clamps with the screw style while I'm in there?

I don't think there's any reason not to. Most people do.
