mihela816
Replace the tranny. They are a dime a dozen. No need to do a rebuild.
WhiteOut
My rebuild cost me $2300. Hell the torque converter itself was like $750 or something similarly ridiculous. If you can get a rebuild for $1300 thats a hell of a deal.
Justin
If you replace the trans you will just be going through the same thing again, but if you rebuild it then you know it'll last a while. If it were me and I didn't know how to rebuild them I'd take it to a tech school and have them build it.
Smoke1991
well a dime a dozen, yes thats true for you, out here its 5X nore scarce than that, plus they all wanted 350-400 for the tranny, then 300 to swap it, i was allready fucked with the other dude because he allready took my tranny n stuff out and apart... so in the long run 1300 vs what about 1000 (toe truck...other expences...) not bad in my eyes. 94CutlassSLCoupe
I guess they wouldn't be to common on Long Island...hell nobody there wanted my car (that's where it came from)...I could probably buy a used 4t60 in Pennsylvania near my home for like $125. hosser
When my trans went out i found brand new ones on the internet for 1200$ for around 13,1400 you and a friend could put that in a days work. Also, i found a used one using google for 600 shipped. so its not worth it to rebuild in my opinnion. If you have a mechanic do it your looking at 1000 flat. My used trans had 72,000 miles on it and i have put about 4k so far and it runs great, but your taking a chance with any used trans just like you are with any rebuilt trans. HarHarHar! also screw the 3.4 :-) 1: no more $$$, 2: why do it for what? a few extra hp?!?... waste of money... also screw a stick, to much of a hastle, and they arent as durrable as a automatic. Especially my rebuilt one. I got my car back today. Feels like a million bucks, hell the tranny looks like a reman from GM. All nice and clean!. I also got some pics on my camera of the busted stuff that came out of the tranny, ill post those later.
