ok thanx alot, u guys have been oh so helpful in my quest for more power out of my "mighty" 3100 V6. lol i like the idea of swapin it out for the 3400 or even the s/c 3800 but unfortunatly im only lookin to spend like $1000-$1500 in power add-ons over the next year or so after that im puttin ALL of my cash into a 3rd or 4th gen IROC-Z or SS camaro for some tru power but until then im definatley gonna go with the cold air intake but is there a way to make a ram-air like set up? like maybe run the intake close to the ground infront of the radiator. and a supercharger sounds good and i kno im doin a custom built 2.25" mandrel bent GTP dual exhaust with two magna flow str8 thru mufflers and a magna flow hi flow cat. I like the idea of changin the shift points on my tranny, one question: are the shift points on the 4t60e in the 3.4 motor different than the points in the 3100 tranny? i got the 4t60e from a 3.4 motor but it feels like 2nd gear is wierd, 3rd on the other hand is perfect but u gotta be between 70-75mph to get good use of that gear. but thanx again for all of your suggestions... oh and i almost forgot... I LOVE laughin gas

from what I understand putting a L67 in a 1st-gen will bump it up to around the same weight as a 2nd gen GTP.. Plus a 'vert is heavier to begin with so I don't think it will be lighter at all..

I am kinda getting tired of the words L67 swap. Can't wait till there are some OTHER good options for lots of power (like the 3900 V6 ;))

Here's a thought: TURBO SHORTSTAR!!! Nobody's ever mentioned doing a 3.5 Shortstar swap in an older W yet, so why not take that one step further? I suppose the aftermarket for the Shortstar is weaker than the aftermarket for the 3.4 TDC though :( ...

the 3.5 wont fit in the 1st gne w-bodys, its a 90* DOHC engine, its just to wide to fit

Got it! So that would explain why nobody's contemplated doing the swap yet...

do a custom supercharger setup if you're willing to do some custom fab. That should wake it up a little... use a m62 or m90 off a 3800, or if you want to intercool, use a tbird sc supecharger. Should be around your price range.

You can pick a 3400 up off of ebay for about $300.
