brianteel
ok i am doing a manual swap in my 96 grand prix with a L67. I am using parts from a 92 chevy lumina with a get rag 284 trans. First question.....I need a clutch that is strong enough to hold 300+ HP. I am using a modded camaro flywheel + the kit. second question......if i end up fogetting about the 284 and go with the 282 getrag trans what would need to be change in order to switch over...i know clutch kit....i need to know about linkage and clutch master cylinder. anyone who has any info let me please
5speedz34
Shift cables are the same, Clutch and all the hydraulics are completely different.

ZeroDCX
Would the 282 be able to hold up to the L67's torque at a HP figure of 300+ HP for long? Cause I was thinking of doing the L67 with a manual tranny, the Getrag 282, but I've heard bad things about the 282 and that it can't withstand the torque from an L67. brianteel
actually all the fiero guys use is the getrag 282. they bolt the trans up to every motor they use. the getrag 284 is the worst trans to use because of the inability to rebuild it. the only reason i am using it right now is because the parts car i have has the 284 in it
digitaloutsider
A fiero doesn't way near as much as your car does. Chances are it won't hold up to the weight of a W-body plus the torque of the L67.
ZeroDCX
So to be on the safe side, should I just stick with a L67/4T65-HD Tranny then?
