skiiirt
Well I finally came across an other problem.. It's been a long time since I've had the car under the microscope (almost a week) I have been getting a SES 32. So I went and switched out the EGR valve with a brand new AC Delco EGR Valve. The car still seems to be having troubles just no SES light this time. (thats a lie, about 20 mins after the car is at normal operating temp the light will come on, then wont come back after I shut the car off) Could this be caused by the gaskets that the EGR sits on? Should I replace those? I just replaced the big black valve, no gaskets or anything What else should I be doing? After installing something like this should I reset my ECM or something? The car symptoms are rough idle/run and the rpms surge from 200 - 1000rpms when driving at slower speeds and stopped Any ideas guys?
maybe2fast
u should have replaced the gaskets and try unhooking the battery that will clear the codes out of memory and start from new. try that and get back to us -Don
skiiirt
ok, cleared the ECM, did the idle relearn. Unfortunately I think I busted one of the gaskets putting it in. I'm waiting for monday so I can go order another one. The car seems to have been running better except I have come across an unusual amount of stalling. From not stalling once in 5000km to stalling once a day. I have a feeling the EGR valve isn't at fault. I did get another code 32 SES light. Anything else I should be replacing? WhiteOut
Try cleaning out the EGR passages on the intake as well. Get new EGR gaskets, it will only run about $4.
skiiirt
like the port that the actual valve sits on? With what would you clan it with? I was scraping gasket off the bottom of my egr valve before i put it back on, but that was as far is i took it Off to find a dealership with that gasket oh btw it's a $1.50 gasket
slick
Take off the egr and spray some carb cleaner into the little ports. Then, take a coat hanger or something and go at it. Should help.
Manny
...they were discussing the very same issue on 60degreev6.com, and came up with some interesting conclusions-especially the bottom of page 1 and some of page 2 http://www.60degreev6.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=3030
skiiirt
Thanks for the read. I do believe I have done almost everything said on that message board. The fuel injectors were done long ago I am thinking of just disabling the freakin thing. But I have heard that it still gives out the SES light? True or False? I dont particularily want to remove my computer chip, not only is it a brand new one but I dont even know where to begin lookin that and I'm tapped for $ Anyways. I replaced the gaskets, cleaned it to the best of my ability (without a spray) and the car was running AWESOME but about 50km later I got a SES light. I havent scanned but im more than 100% sure it'll report
