Speckkial Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 I have a 93' CS and sometimes it doesn't turn over when I try to start it up. After about five times turning the key it finally turns over. This has been happening for a while now so I decided to go buy another battery only to find out that it does it more often. What's wrong with my car? Was the battery not the problem? The old battery looked pretty worn out so I thought replacing the battery would have fixed all that. Last week, it did that and as I turned the key I hit the accelerator and it started up. Could it be bad cables? Please direct me. Quote
Baddflash Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Sound like the starter solenoid or the starter itself, most likely the solenoid. Quote
93CutlassSupreme Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 does it click when you turn they key ? Quote
Speckkial Posted August 27, 2004 Author Report Posted August 27, 2004 It did before I bought the new battery. Someone on hear said then that I probably needed a new battery. Quote
Baddflash Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Pull the starter. You can get it tested, repaired or just get another and replace it, I'd still say it's the solenoid. Quote
midnight rider Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 Replace thy starter for it be as dead as the night be dark and the winter be cold....... Sayeth the Rider, nevermore........ Quote
Guest TurboSedan Posted August 27, 2004 Report Posted August 27, 2004 check & clean the connections at the auxillary battery post near the battery on the drivers side fender before replacing the starter. Quote
