midnight rider
well, if i can find out why it is she's sputtering i wont do a damn thing except waste money on little mods and call it good more and more i am starting to lose interest in anything with learning anything about cars cause its just seriously a waste of time for me currently. which is why its making me change my mind so much. whenever i start my car in the morning she runs fine until it gets to temp then it starts to sputter as i get up in speed ... just alot of stuff going on currently and the last thing i want to worry about is my fuckin car to blow up. i hardly EVER get on it except when I am getting on the freeway or ... just wanting to have fun with it. no sense in beating on my freakin daily driver. just been having a bad year this year ... I know this sounds like a simple answer, but have changed fuel and air filters out? I had a corsica that would run like a champ unti it warmed up, then it would do the same thing. I looked it over and noticed the air filter was nasty as hell. I changed it and it ran perfect. If that ain't it, its a fuel delivery problem, I'd bet. Maybe you have a dirty injector or weak fuel pump even.
cryptnix
so, whats the best way of testing and seeing if it is related to a fuel pump problem? my buddy and I hooked up a guage to the shrader valve ... (if thats what it is) to check it out and it read 47 psi ... I am told by countless mechanics that the car just sitting there engine running that it sounds excellant. So, why is it that when its fucking all nice and warm that it starts acting like this? I DO NOT want to buy new injectors good lord ... already checked into the pricing. its worth blowing the motor up and swapping in a new 3100 ... to me anyway i'm confused and in a dazed mind right now so please forgive me. i should have the computer checked once again and see if i can go womp on it and let it record it. tis how i found out my knock sensor was bad ... but, why would i be throwing a knock code? who knows ... I'll get you a list of codes tomorrow morning if it'll help. I know it'll help me, and I'll greatly appreciate it more tomorrow evening when I post the wonderful list ... I saw like 3 or 4 codes come up on his little screen, but the one that stood out the most was the knock sensor to him. Would a o2 sensor throw a SES light? I'm tired, bothered to even worry about my car but I want the best for it, so she'll last a few more months, years, even, or at least last for the next person that decides to purchase this motor off of me. midnight rider
o2 sensor is the sensor thats in the exhaust pipe. its about the size of a spark plug and has a single wire running to it. looks kinda like this.... It will deffently throw a code and cause your car to run like shit. BTW, thank you, your question reminded me of something I over looked on my own car.... cutlassdude96
your car has 2 O2 sensors and if you want a 3400 it should work with your 3100 ecm and trans or you could use the Impala or MC computer and trans
