GnatGoSplat
Ugh. My friend called me on Saturday. Seems the '88 Cutlass I gave him is leaking brake fluid like crazy. Turns out a long, long time ago, I had to bend the shit out of the metal power steering pressure line going to the PS pump so that I could lift the PS pump far enough to get 2 wrenches on its pressure fitting (1 to turn the fitting, the other to hold still the piece of the PS pump that broke free). Anyway, I didn't bend it back quite right when I got the new PS pump in, and was never aware of it. Turns out, the rubber hose with the loom on it was rubbing on the tiny brake line pipe, and after many years, has finally rubbed through. This is the right front brake line. It goes from right front wheel to master cylinder. Anyone ever had to replace this? Do I have to lower the subframe to replace it? I hate when something breaks... and it's my fault. Guest Anonymous
I haven't done that one but I did do the right rear. Never again.
