Guest Anonymous Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 I removed the two screws by the steering wheel but I cant get the one abov e the glove box... it looks like some sort of nut, anyone know the best way to do it? I cant seem to get any tools to fit or work up there. Quote
Robby1870 Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 drop the glove box lid all the way down, like disconnect the hangers from the box, so the lid falls staight down. Then, any tool should get in there Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 :withstupid: And it's a 7mm screw. Then lift up and pull the dashpad towards you. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted August 22, 2004 Report Posted August 22, 2004 I found it easier to actually remove the glove box as well.. its not THAT much extra work. Makes it very easy to find that damn screw. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 Its not a screw... its some sort of hex nut thing that looks cheap and mass produced. I wish it was a screw. Quote
5speedz34 Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 What do you mean by hex nut? Like a six sided bolt that, a socket goes over or what? Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 yes, but its more of a cover... no bolt end comes through Quote
digitaloutsider Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 Are you SURE you're getting to the right thing? It's a 7mm screw. Quote
THe_DeTAiL3R Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 If you take your glove box out you will be able to easily access the bolt/screw. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 there is this round opening in the top of the glove box and there is a bolt up there holding it on. I was told its a screw, i took every visible screw out and it still wont budge. if any one has pics.... Quote
Darkness Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 I just had the pad off my TGP tonight. I took out the glovebox, which was very easy, and the bolt was pretty much staring right at me when I looked up. I used a 9/32 socket on it and it fit perfectly. Quote
GP1138 Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 Yeah, use a 7mm or a 9/32 as previously stated, and turn it out. It's just a screw with an end like a nut on it. Quote
Guest Anonymous Posted August 23, 2004 Report Posted August 23, 2004 thanks guys, I will have to find the correct tools this time and return to the car to do battle. Quote
