91GPSTE
Ok maybe you can help me out on this one. My DIC hasn't been working properly ever since I had the car and now I want it fixed. First of all I can't reset my fuel and distance guages. I thought it may be a fuel sensor but I am not sure. Secondly the DIC shows that my headlights are on when they are not. This basically stays on all the time. Maybe this is because I have day time running lights. Also it shows that my brake lights are on long after I depress the brake pedal. And lastly this just started happening when driving during the day my headlights turn on and DIC becomes too dim that I can't see it. I thought there could be something with light sensor in the dash but I have no idea what can go wrong with it or how to check it.
Baddflash
The light thing might be the lamp monitor but it could also be resistance in the line some where. Are there any bulbs out or problems with the signal switch? Not sure why it would say the headlights are on if they're not. I would assume you're following the proper procedure when trying to reset the values for Econ, the distance available should adjust automatically with the fuel level and avg econ. I'll go play with mine in a bit, maybe then I'll know what I'm talking about.
91GPSTE
Ok the economy reset works the only other thing that is messed up now is the headlights. It says that my low beam and stp lamp is on when they aren't. The stp lamp signal just seems slow. Like I press the brake and it lights up then I let go and it stay on for a long time. I know that some of my fuses in the fuse box are wrong values. Also I made a jumper wire for the fog lights to work together with my low beams and high beams. That could cause it as well because I remember when I first did it my lights were flashing. It stopped doing it now though.

I'd say the jumper wire could be the problem with the headlights, possibly, but not sure about the ste bars, it may be lamp monitor it may be related to the headlights. The fuses if too small won't hurt anything but will blow sooner, to big and it will allow the devices to draw more current than what is safe and could damage components to a greater extent. :? Hard to explain what I mean but it's better to have the spec'd fuses in place, although I don't really think it would be causing you're problems though. I haven't hooked that part up yet so I can't say much in relation to the lamp monitor. I know that you can take it apart pretty easy so you could pull it out and look for damaged components or burnt traces on the PCB inside.
